Known for fusing Americana, soul jazz and R&B together to create their own sound, Jeff Newell’s New-Trad Octet is sure to please.

The concert begins at 7:00 p.m., on the lawn west of the Sheldon Museum.

Activities such as UNL Garden tours, Super Sleuth for kids, and the Jazz in June market are available before the concert.

Fountain Frolics

The University Program Council (UPC) will be presenting Fountain Frolics from 12 to 1 p.m. beginning June 3, 2010 and continuing every Thursday through July 29, 2010 excluding July 1, 2010 at the Nebraska Union under the north overhang. This is a free outdoor local music concert series for all to enjoy with the option of a $4.00 hot dog picnic lunch.

Radio Happy Hour host Sam Osterhout meets with the producers about the script for the upcoming Radio Happy Hour performance in Lincoln, NE on April 22, 2010 featuring special guests Eugene Mirman and Matt Pond Pa.

Aziz Ansari Show Canceled

AZIZ ANSARI HAS JUST CANCELED HIS SHOW WITH THE UNL UNIVERSITY PROGRAM COUNCIL (UPC) AND 3 OTHER COLLEGES!

Aziz Ansari will be unable to make it to Nebraska on April 6th, 2010, because of his workings on MTV’s Movie Awards which will apparently be occupying all his time for the next month. He has canceled four of his shows, including the one for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

The University Program Council is very upset to hear this news. We did everything in our power to bring a great comedian, and while it is disappointing to our group and all the students who were planning on attending not much can be done.

AZIZ ANSARI TICKET REFUNDS:
Online ticket sales thru etix’s with your debit or credit card will be refunded directly back to your debit and/or credit card.

Rococo Theatre Box Office ticket sales with your debit or credit card will be refunded directly back to your debit and/or credit card.

This may take a few days or a week based on your debit and/or credit card bank policy.
Cash refunds will be handled directly with the Rococo Theatre Box Office:

Please bring your ticket with you for the cash refund.
If your ticket was at “will call” the box office will have it.

Radio Happy Hour – Featuring ‘Flight of the Conchords’ star Eugene Mirman & Matt Pond PA – April 22

The University Program Council is excited to be bringing a  fantastic new form of entertainment to UNL with Radio Happy Hour, a live variety show that will have you busting up all night. Radio Happy Hour is bringing with them a very special guest – Eugene Mirman, of HBO’s hit show “Flight of the Conchords”, will help bring the funny to UNL students. The show hits the stage on Thursday, April 22 at the Rococo Theatre!

Tickets are on sale NOW at the Rococo Box Office or at www.rococotheatre.com. Prices are as follows:
$5 for students with a valid N-card (Use promotional code NCARD when purchasing online)
$25 for public/faculty/staff

NBC Star Hits UNL – Aziz Ansari Brings Laughs to Rococo on April 6

Are you a fan of NBC’s ‘Parks & Recreation’? Maybe you’ve heard of “RAAAANDY”? Or would you simply like to bear witness to one of the hottest rising stars in comedy? You’re in luck! The University Program Council is proud to bring comedian Aziz Ansari to Lincoln. Aziz will be bringing his hilarious stand-up show to the Rococo Theater on Tuesday, April 6. To sweeten the deal, UNL students get discounted tickets (more info below)! So save the the date – you don’t wanna miss the hottest comedy act in Lincoln!

Ticket Info: Tickets go on sale to UNL students on March 1st for only $15! Public tickets will be $30 and go on sale March 29th. They can be purchased online at www.rococotheatre.com or at the Rococo Box Office (13th and P). Students should use the promotional code NCARD when purchasing online and must bring their valid N-Card to the event.

Alice in Wonderland is being presented at the Lincoln Grand (12th & P) on March 9 – all you need to get in is your valid N-card!
